Jenine Tanabe, MD
Dr. Tanabe was born and raised in the Butte-Yuba-Sutter area, a place she and her husband proudly call home. She began her academic journey at Yuba College in Marysville, CA, before earning her degree in Biological Sciences from UC Davis with Highest Honors. Her passion for research led her to the National Institutes of Health, followed by graduate studies in Marine Biology at CSU Sacramento. She then pursued her medical degree at UC San Francisco and continued her training with an Internal Medicine internship at UC Davis Medical Center. Dr. Tanabe completed her Dermatology Residency at UC Davis Medical Center, solidifying her expertise in medical and surgical dermatology.
Dedicated to her patients, Dr. Tanabe values the relationships she has built over the years. She considers it a privilege to provide dermatologic care and believes her patients continually remind her of the best aspects of humanity. She and her team strive to return that kindness by delivering excellent, compassionate care.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Tanabe enjoys exploring new hobbies, from sustainable gardening and raising chickens to making wine. Whether she tries something once or makes it a lifelong passion, she finds joy in the learning experience. Most importantly, she cherishes time spent with her husband, their three wonderful children, and six amazing grandchildren, all part of the community she loves.
