BBL® Ultra in Chico, CA
Many patients considering laser skin rejuvenation at our Chico, Yuba City, and Oroville, CA, med spas can also benefit from BBL® PhotoFacial treatments, which address certain skin conditions that lasers don’t. BBL Ultra combines the benefits of photofacials with the resurfacing of MicroLaserPeel® treatments to improve both the skin’s texture and overall complexion.
What Is BBL Ultra?
BBL Ultra is two separate treatments performed during a single appointment at Rejuvené Med Spa. Both the BBL PhotoFacial and MicroLaserPeel devices come from the same manufacturer, and the results complement each other. The BBL procedure harnesses the power of intense pulsed light (IPL). Instead of a single, focused beam of light used during IPL treatments, BBL delivers a broad spectrum of multiple light wavelengths that treat a large area of skin.
Combining the MicroLaserPeel, sometimes referred to as a “weekend peel,” with a BBL Photofacial is an ideal option for patients who want to see significant improvement in the appearance of their skin with minimal downtime.
Who Is a Good Candidate for BBL Ultra?
Women and men who have a range of concerns about their skin can benefit greatly from scheduling BBL Ultra treatment sessions. These treatments address:
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Redness
- Pigment irregularities
- Loss of collagen
Even though the most popular treatment areas for BBL Ultra treatments are the face and neck, we can also treat the chest and hands using these technologies.
What Happens During a BBL Ultra Treatment?
One of our aesthetic specialists cleans your skin and provides safety glasses to protect your eyes. Because most BBL Ultra treatments don’t penetrate too deeply, there is minimal discomfort during the procedure. Treatments can be customized, and if the settings are adjusted to penetrate deeper into the skin, we can numb the area with a topical cream.
We use a sophisticated computer-driven machine equipped with a small handpiece for this procedure. During the MicroLaserPeel treatment, the provider moves the handpiece along the skin, delivering laser energy below the skin’s surface. This process eliminates damaged skin cells, making way for the immediate growth of new skin. A MicroLaserPeel results in some redness and slight peeling for 2 to 5 days following the treatment. During the BBL procedure, the handpiece delivers broad-spectrum light below the skin’s surface, where it is absorbed by excess pigment and damaged tissue.
The treatment takes about 30 minutes to an hour, depending on the size of the treatment area.
