What Can Fillers Treat?
The versatility of fillers is one of the reasons they have emerged, along with BOTOX® injections, as the most popular cosmetic treatments in the world. Dermal fillers are used to enhance contours, plump lips, smooth wrinkles, and minimize folds, including:
- Nasolabial folds
- Marionette lines
- Lip or smokers’ lines
- Lost volume in the cheeks, lips, temples, and elsewhere
- Hollowed tear troughs under the eyes
The results are seen almost immediately after the treatment sessions.
Dermal Filler Options
It used to be that a single filler was a workhorse and used in multiple areas of the face. That’s no longer true. Over the past 10 to 15 years, a range of specialized formulations has become available. That gives our injectors the ability to customize treatments based on each patient’s specific needs.
The most common fillers, such as the JUVÉDERM® and Restylane® product lines, are made with hyaluronic acid (HA), a substance that occurs naturally in the body. It is biocompatible and reversible.
Filler options available at Rejuvené include:
JUVÉDERM
Besides JUVÉDERM XC, which smooths smile lines and nasolabial folds, the JUVÉDERM family includes several specialized fillers. These include:
JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA® XC: Gives lips a fuller appearance and smooths vertical lip lines. Results last up to a year.
JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® XC: Injected deeper than other JUVÉDERM fillers to contour and lift the cheeks. Results last up to 2 years.
JUVÉDERM VOLLURE® XC: Softens the nasolabial folds that extend from the nose to the sides of the mouth. Results last up to 18 months.
Restylane
Restylane® Silk: Designed specifically for lip contouring and smoothing wrinkles around the mouth. Results last about 6 months.
Restylane® Refyne & Defyne: Both of these fillers use a unique formulation to ensure the treatment areas—nasolabial folds and lines around the mouth—look and move naturally after the injections. Both last up to 12 months.
Restylane® Lyft: A versatile filler that we use to treat moderate-to-severe facial wrinkles and folds. It adds volume to the cheeks, erases smile lines around the mouth, and fills in sunken or hollow temples.
Restylane® Kysse: A filler just for lip injections that, like other Restylane products, is designed to ensure the lips and mouth move naturally. Results last up to 1 year.
Sculptra® Aesthetic
Unlike hyaluronic acid-based JUVÉDERM and Restylane fillers, Sculptra is composed of poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), a biocompatible material that the body naturally absorbs with virtually no risk of allergy. Sculptra is injected deeper into the skin and stimulates the production of new collagen, an essential protein for improving the skin’s strength and elasticity. When used in the cheeks, Sculptra helps restore the deep, underlying structure of the skin to diminish facial wrinkles. Results build over several months, and can last 2 years or more.
Radiesse®
This filler also stimulates the production of new collagen. Radiesse uses calcium-based microspheres to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and folds in the face and hands. Results are immediate and sustained and can last up to 2 years.
Frequently Asked Questions About Fillers
How much do fillers cost?
The cost of filler injections depends on the type of filler used, the treatment area, the goals of the patient, and other factors. Even though virtually all patients consider cost, we recommend that you choose highly trained and qualified injectors. Injections performed by less skilled providers can lead to disappointing results or complications.
What’s the difference between fillers and BOTOX®
BOTOX and other muscle-relaxing injections address dynamic wrinkles caused by squinting, smiling, frowning, or looking surprised. The results typically last about 4 months. Fillers replenish lost volume and last longer. We often combine fillers with BOTOX to produce better overall results.
